Fuse Box help

Featured Replies

So I am a bit confused,

On the back of my glove box there is a sticker saying what fuses are what and I have checked and they seem to be correct (because I had to replace the cig lighter fuse and found it using the sticker)

Here is a pic of the sticker

And here is a pic of the passenger compartment fuse box part of the manual that I got from the ford website

As you can see there are differences in what fuse is what compared to my fuse box, take fuse 22 for example on mine and the sticker it is the cig lighter but on the manual it says instrument cluster.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Also for some reason fuse 1 on my fuse box had a 3 amp fuse in it but on the sticker it says 7.5 so I changed it to a 7.5, that's ok right?

don't know, perhaps they just cocked it up. On my 2007 fiesta 1.6tdci in the handbook  the underbonnet diagram had the power steering fluid cap and windscreen washer cap labelled the opposite way round. And they are on opposite sides of the car, not next to eachother

I'd trust the supplied diagram more than a general fiesta manual you've googled for.

I'd leave it as 3 amp if it's not blown at any point. No need to make it bigger if there's no problem with it, you just have a higher chance of setting your car on fire :) ideally fuses should be a little bit higher than the load. E.g. if you're pulling 2A out of a socket, a 3A fuse is a little low, and could frequently blow, but a 5A should be perfect as there is clearly a fault it if blows.
