Changing (increasing) mileage on instrument cluster with ELMConfig

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I have just successfully managed to replace the instrument cluster in a 2008 Focus with a used one, and it worked perfectly thanks to FORScan and its amazing PATS programming / initialisation function.

The only slight niggle is that I was unable to change the mileage using ELMConfig - whenever I try to write a new mileage I just get a non-descript ELMconfig error - something about invalid format and whatnot.  I've tried various different versions of ELMConfig old and new, and always get variations of the same error.

I notice that the mileage, when read, omits the last digit - so for example if the car has done 112504 miles, it'll only read in ELMconfig as 11250.  Older versions will read it as 11250.4.

I tried writing the car's correct mileage both in 5-digit and 6-digit form, to no avail.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

i found when doing it i think it does it in km not sure if that will help
