Focus mk3 Front wiper issue

Featured Replies

Hi, I am a newbie looking for some advice.

I have a 1.6 TDCI 2012 Focus. Yesterday morning I got in the car and the front wipers do not work at all.

Up or down in all 4 modes. The wash bit works as does the rear wiper.

Have checked the fuse whick looks ok. I have been looking for the relay/s for the wipers and can only find any reference to

the rear wiper and nothing for the front.

So, can someone please help? Or alternatively point me in another direction before I have to admit defeat and go to a garage.

I am not the best mechanic but have fixed numerous things on both mine and my wifes cars so am basically just stumped and not shy of having a go.

Thanks in advance, Neil

you checked fuse 18 in engine fusebox?

Hi mate, yes I did thanks. Looks ok to me. Well all intact. Where would you go next? Cheers

not as easy as relays unfortunatly. will check wiring diagram, if you switch ign off, move one of the wipers up a few inches. then switch ign on and see if it self parks.

right, no easy way to diagnose. if you have multimeter you can check feeds to both motors and earths from motors. the wiper switch comunicates with steering column control module, that comunicates with body control module via linbus that then sends linbus signal to main wiper motor module. then comunication takes place between the main and aux wiper motor. idealy it needs a ford diagnostics laptop to find fault quickly.

Yep, over complicated just for wipers!! The joys of independant wiper motors.

Cheers pal. That is where I am. Thing is I can't see them on any diagram, only rear wiper relay so I am stuck at the minute.

I found and on / off relays in mk2 focus diagrams but nothing on mk3.

It is the relay location that I need next.

Thanks

No joy with this I am afraid. Will have some lunch and get my tools out.
