Parasitic Draw on Mk7 Trani due to radio

Found a parasitic draw on the radio circuit. I removed the head unit itself and re tested and get a normal 0.01 amp draw. All is well.  Now is it just a case of buying a new head unit as the fault lies within the unit itself ( i have read it is a common fault), or is it a case of it could be the wiring to the unit ( someone else has suggested) and buying a new unit will not solve the issue. Any way of testing this issue or can the my current head unit be fixed. I know alot of circuit board issues are usually something like a faulty capacitor. Help is greatly appreciated.
