my estates rear speakers not working

hi all,hope you are all enjoying your festive hols!

My prob seems to be my rear speakers.Its a ford focus 1.8tdci on a 56 plate.Ive not long had the car,and the 6000cd was locked so i don,t know if they worked before i upgraded my stereo today.When i looked at the harness,it had 3 wires cut? and when i went to fit no suprise it didn,t work although the clock on the 6000cd worked!,i reconnected,and it worked except rears.Ive been told my car is an ex-police car? GX plate starts with.Would they have altered the wireing? nothing at all useing fader
