mk2.5 valve clearance interval

Featured Replies

Anybody know what the service schedule interval is for the 2.0 duratec he mk2.5 valve clearances are? My car is 8yr old this Yr and has done 57k and I can't for the life of me find the service interval for when the clearances need checking, Haynes manual doesn't say nor does my service booklet.

i know there is an interval but i cant find it either. but ive never been asked to have clearances checked on customers cars, it is an extra to the schedule as such and an extra 1.5 hours to check. and adjust is 3 hrs.
unless there rattling ( too much clearance )or missfiring (not enough clearance ) i would leave well alone. clearances tend not to change much with a modern engine.

Thats wat I thort. Someone told me it's 8yrs or 60k. Someone else said 10yr or 100k. But no noises or rattles so I'm tempted to leave alone. Near Ford dealer tomorrow might pop in and ask them tho.

Went to Ford dealer today and asked them. Answer was we don't check them unless there are symptoms showing. So that's answered that then!
