BANK1 SENSOR DPF

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum but I like my garage mechanic needs serious help and I apologise for the seriously long description..

I have a Mk 3 2011 Ford Focus Titanium 2.0tdci (don't know engine variation) and I have been slightly down on power and using excess diesel (eg on a 46 mile journey I am using approximately 60 miles worth of diesel?.  I am no Lewis Hamilton nor a Marg Simpson.  Not heavy footed on the accelerator or brake.  Last Friday wife took the car on a short run and 1 hour after she got back I put the car on the driveway (like I always do I allow all lights to go out on the dash before pressing the start button).  Later that day I went to use it and there was no start and I had a warning message come up on the dashboard "engine malfunction service now".  Got it recovered to the garage where after replacing the battery and placing it on to their diagnostic device there was only one fault code 'Sensor Bank 1 DPF'.  Found I had seriously damaged the following sensors 12B591AA and 12B591BB and after replacing them with original parts from Ford, the car still wouldn't start.  The mechanic still couldn't clear the original fault code and checked the remaining sensors underneath the car and found no damage.  After further tests  and running voltage tests found I had no issues and the car would only start on being bumped off.  It would run but as soon as the car moves off it shuts down.  Did the hidden fault finder by pressing the start button and the down arrow on the right hand side of the steering wheel and found no other fault codes.  Still the car only throwing up 'Sensor Bank 1 DPF'.  Has anybody got any thoughts?
