MK7.5 Fiesta (Petrol) Performance Modifications?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to this site but so far I've seen some great stuff on here. I recently bought a mk7.5 fiesta, it's a 1.2 petrol and it's pretty slow and has no go about it. I was wondering, as far as modifications go what's the best things I could do to make the car, faster, have better bhp, and just overall drive nicer.

Any response will be greatly appreciated, many thanks. Callum 😀

Could look at remaps. I'd also think of induction kits and exhausts but don't think that'll make any noticeable power.

An induction kit is completely pointless on a NA 1.2L engine.

Changing the exhaust will make you sound like a right mug on a 1.2 and will make the car harder to sell and will lose it's value.

You'd be lucky to get 10hp out of a remap, there's not much you can do without doing other upgrades first. You might get it to 90hp if you change exhaust and remap. At what cost though? Talking few hundred for cat back and £300 odd for a remap. Again you can't get much more power out of naturally aspirated engines. The ecoboosts are easy to squeeze more power as they just turn up the turbo output.

You'd get more power by changing the air filter and giving the car a good service than doing any of the things listed above. Oh then you have insurance to deal with.

If you were desperate to get more power you're talking stupids amounts of money turboing the engine, full turbo back exhaust, custom dyno tune, new manifolds, upgrading the injectors, cams then boring out the engine if it hasn't blown up already by that point.

Basically you can't get more noticeable  power out of the 1.2 without it costing more than upgrading to the ecoboost. My advice is get a 1.0L ecoboost if you want power. Will work out cheaper and more reliable in the long run.
