Ford Focus 1.6 tdci Turbo Oil

Featured Replies

Recently bought a 100k mileage 55 plate Ford Focus 1.6tdci 110 for £900. Ad said FSH & stupidly didn’t check book when bought. Hasn’t had a service since 2014 at 70k mileage. 45min into 3hr drive home limp mode hit in. Nurses it home & after looking at this forum sounded like turbo most likely cause, just had a look & oil in turbo & pipes full of oil but turbo not shredded. Do I still need to replace turbo when I do oil change & New injector seals. I would presume yes but just thought I’d check in case. Had a look at injectors & no sign of carbon build up so could oil be in turbo for any other reason than injector seal failure?

Also would you take car back for refund or get it fixed. Seller has agreed to pay for repairs. It took me weeks to find the car & 6hr round trip to pick up so I’m tempted to fix & hope for the best.
