Uneven Brake Disc Wear

Featured Replies

Hi,

About 300-400 miles ago I changed my brake pads all round and have since then started to get some uneven wear on the front discs. The discs weren't changed when I did the pads. It seems the pads aren't making contact on the outside of the disc and a few mm from the inside as well (see the photo). The rear brakes are fine and the wear pattern is the same on both sides of the front. The car still stops well and no unusual noises when braking.

Any help on what could be causing this and is it going to be an issue? Could it be were the pads are wearing to the contour of the disc and it will go eventually? The car's a MK3 Focus ST by the way.

Cheers for your help.

Dave

It's generally agreed that pads and discs should be changed at the same time.
