Which garage? There is an update on IDS for this which only takes a couple of hours.

I had the steering wheel replaced under warranty on my old Edge Sport because of this warning. The part was in stock so it was resolved within a couple of days by my dealership.

Does anyone know the actual technical failure that happens? is it the motor in the steering wheel or electronic module?

  • 2 months later...

Just had the adaptive steering malfunction show up. Restarted the engine and it cleared.

Suggestions, please... Do I

A. cross my fingers and hope it doesn’t reoccur?

B. book it into the dealers for a check?

Book it i for a software update

Hmmm... could I say that this is linked to the BCMI so they need to reconfigure it?

I had this last month. Booked into dealership... a month later. It happened twice on the day, didn't happen again. Since going in they say there may be a wiring fault, but have also had the engine management light come on which they say is the DPF sensor which I'm now waiting for a call to say they've got the part in. Not had the adaptive steering fault since that first day

You could say it but IDS will decide what to do!
