How can you cancel the travel news pop up temporarily from the steering wheel controls

i have sony sync2 on kUGA '15 and trying to poke the cancel on the centre consol is very frustrating, especially as I pick up about 5 local stations that provide a traffic service

i don't won't to turn it off completely

any suggestions please

When on it also stops the reversing sensor diagram appearing ! Very annoying

    As far as I know it is either off or on and is only controlled by the setting on centre console.
