62 titanium - trying to find a new blower motor resistor
davehopkins posted a topic in Ford Fiesta Club
Hi all Have a 62 plate fiesta titanium. The blowers only blow occasionally even though they are on full strength according to the controls. Having had a look online it was suggested I should replace the blower motor resistor, but I am having trouble tracking down the correct part. Looking online every website gives me a part that just is wrong. The part being suggested has a square cable connector, but the part in the car is more rectangle and thin. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can source this part? Thanks Dave -
First post, i currently have a MK8 - ST3. Had it from new nearly four years ago, only after market item is a pandora. I have had problems with the battery for a while and now had it die fully in a few days then again, had it die twice when away on holiday for two weeks at a time. So replaced the battery the other day with brand new one. Now have this EML with this code on: P068A - ECM/PCM Power Relay De-Energized Performance Too Early. I had this previously but it would go away on restart, now it stuck on. Any ideas? Any one had this before and what was the issue? Been looking around and could be wide range of problems.

It will be fun to watch Stelantis learn how Chinese companies handle warranty claims and recalls. I predict that the relationship will become “rocky” at best! I believe that they are going to try to outsource their entire product development and manufacturing processes. Many people in the industry have a fascination with the idea of doing nothing but quality checks and sticking their nameplate on the boot lid.

I agree, they should have been providing you with one, most employers that want to communicate with their staff do. I had a works phone years before I had my own mobile. If you have a busy and varied social life then Facebook and WhatsApp make life easier and keep you in the loop, if you don't have a social life like that then neither of them are very important although I have a friend who lives in a cul-de-sac and they have a group WhatsApp group so if for example some outsider is acting suspiciously in the street then one of them can tell all others to keep a look out instantly. That could be done via phone calls or messaging but WhatsApp is more convenient.

10 years ago I worked for a company who increasingly communicated with staff via WhasApp - at that stage I didn't even own a SmartPhone. My boss told me to get one, and I responded that if he wanted me to use WhatsApp, he should be providing them. One of the many reasons I left (!), and WhatsApp is also owned by FaceBook, so personally, even though I now own a smartphone, wouldn't touch it with the proverbial barge pole...

2014 1.6 Ecoboost Petrol Timing/Cam Belt Interval/Cost
TomsFocus replied to tom5937's topic in General Ford Related Discussions
Yes, that's correct regarding 1.0 vs 1.6. I'm not sure what cover they needed to inspect before quoting. Perhaps they were checking for oil leaks on the cam cover, and will replace that if leaking, but I hope they'd tell you that specifically in addition to the standard belt change. Definitely sounds like getting a couple more quotes from other places would be the best thing to do. I'm certainly not filled with confidence from the first dealership! -
Facebook is great for large group social activities, both public ones and members only. Before Facebook was popular we used to get emails giving essentially the same information but with Facebook there is two way feedback with other likeminded people and details and photo's of events that I may have missed to keep myself up to speed. I often find myself sharing the info on Facebook with people I know but see regularly at unrelated times that are not on Facebook but do the same activities, otherwise they would not know what was going on and they have come to rely on me for the info. The smaller group social activities that I do have WhatsApp closed groups, which is better for a lot of reasons including some people not being on Facebook.

The trip MPG 'computer' on a car is no more than a toy, no accuracy at all. The only true test of MPG is to brim the tank, then run it down, then re-brim it again. Work out how much fuel it took you to cover the mileage used. Do it a few times to get a proper average. Then, thereafter, every time you full it up, 'zero' the odometer, then you'll have a proper running guide of how far you have left in the tank...

Changed HCV but it's the panel control, Streetka LHD
Bobbyg123 replied to Bobbyg123's topic in Ford KA / StreetKA Club
UPDATE, for anyone still interested!! The HCV change has miraculously done the trick, now working absolutely fine. Thank goodness no need to change the Control Panel (or even find the part!). Thanks for all your help. Cheers -
Many thanks mate 😊

Try this, sadly he's American, but I think the procedure is the same for UK cars...

2014 1.6 Ecoboost Petrol Timing/Cam Belt Interval/Cost
tom5937 replied to tom5937's topic in General Ford Related Discussions
Thanks that's somewhat reassuring. Sounds like they might have mixed it up with a 1.0 when estimating the quote to replace it, and then mixed it up again when looking up the interval?? I'll ring a couple of other Ford garages on Monday to see if I get different prices! This one seemed adamant I needed to bring it in for inspection before they'd quote a price. After a bit more googling today it sounds like the 1.0 takes longer because more bits need to come off the engine to get to the wet belt, whereas the 1.6 has a more conventional dry belt that is easier to access, is that correct? -
update guys all fixed now 🙂 many thanks guys 🙂 does anyone know how to reset the window as double tap doesnt go on its own, i have to keep hold of the window switch for it to go all the way down or up.

2014 1.6 Ecoboost Petrol Timing/Cam Belt Interval/Cost
TomsFocus replied to tom5937's topic in General Ford Related Discussions
I've just checked C-Max, Focus and Mondeo. All still showing as 10 years or 125k miles for 2014 1.6 EcoBoost. The non-turbo 1.6 Ti-VCT is 8 years or 100k miles. 10 hours labour sounds far too long as well. That's more like 1.0 EcoBoost timescale. -

Can anyone advise, have 13 pin trailer socket with no switched live for the fridge. All the cables look good but the Bk/W cable in the pre-fitted socket ( I'm assuming this would be the switched live as it has signal cable to the module) does not get power. Is there a fuse or is this controlled by the canbus? All the usual setup looks to have been done, e.g. parking sensor, fog lights etc. are disabled with the trailer connected. The Gn/Y cable in image 'fridge2' feeds pin 10 on the socket and looks to be controlled by the module. Any help appreciated

Locking wheel nuts? 2017 Focus ST Line
Falconhoof replied to Focus Newbie's topic in Ford Focus Club
I've also bought a Focus, this one a gunmetal grey 2018 mk 3.5 ST line 140 with the grey 17" multi spoke factory alloys. No locking nuts on these ones either which surprised me. Assumed all alloys would have a locking nut. Assumed wrong!
