BT Module USB Cable

Featured Replies

Hi - newbie here.

I've just replaced the BT module on my 2009 Model Titanium X to enable me to stream from my iPhone. The module now fitted is an 8M5T-19C112-AS and works as advertised. I would like complete the job and fit the USB connection, but which USB cable? There appears to be several Ford USB cables available on eBay but I see some are only for uploading software.

I think the cable I need for full module functionality is a AM2T-14D202BA can anyone confirm?

If it helps the Radio is a Sony 6 CD DAB Unit. Radio Firmware - 05-06-03

Converse+ Version is 1007.

Hope someone can help.

It does not have to be a Ford cable, any cheap usb cable will do, I used a angled usb socket with side connector so I could unplug if glovebox removed in future, this mounted rh side in usual place where oem fitted.

Paul,

Interested in what you have done.

I have a 2007 Mondeo without Sony 6CD changer (non-DAB).

Could I change Bluetooth module to allow streaming or would I need to replace headunit as well?

If you have any guides or links I’d appreciate them.

Cheers,

Jamie

I have a generic USB cable fitted but I still need the aux cable to play music. I asked the question because a post on this site suggested that the Ford cable recodes the data stream that makes an ordinary USB cable ineffective.

Anyway last night I applied this update

https://willtaylor.org/update-ford-audio-bluetooth

and now it all works without the aux cable fitted. It may be me but the sound quality also seems improved.

Jamie,

Sorry to have taken so long to reply. I believe it is possible but you may have to do a small wiring mod. I'll pm you
