Brake Caliper Screw Up

Featured Replies

Hi guys im a newbie here and in my quest to save a few quid have had a bit of a set back.

ive a 98 escort 1.8 td and the front os caliper was seized.

in trying to undo the two bolts that fit the carrier to the bottom of the leg ive snapped them.

the annouing thing is that i probably didnt have to undo them anyways.

im thinking ive got to get the disc off so i can get to the bolts to drill them out.

any suggestions.

if both the bolts are snapped, have you tried tapping the bracket to see if it will come off?

You`ve snapped the 2 bolts that hold the caliper in place?

if so just pull the caliper out the way and pull the disc off.

Simples.
