i have a ford focus 1.8 zetec tdi 58 plate .i had it remaped just over a year ago and about a month ago it started over revving when i brake . the revs stick at 1100 . also it blows alot of smoke when excelarating can anyone help please .

    Did this ever happen to you before the remap?

    no it didnt . i dont know much about cars . there is also a taping noise coming from near egr valve .

    Does it tap all the time i.e. when you're driving or just after you turn the engine off?

    it taps more when i am moving it doesnt tap when i have turned tbe engine off
