Mk7 1.6 TDCI 95ps lack of power

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I've had this car for over 2 years and always thought it was slow. I recently bought a bluefin and flashed the PCM.

It has definitely increased the performance, but feels like it's holding back and should give more.

I bought the Torque app and OBD adaptor and put it to the test. And these are the results (see pics).

It looks like it's boosting fine (max I had was 23psi) but the torque and 0-60 looks shocking. Also HP at the wheels only 75!!

Cheers

What gear did you use to get a read out on the HP? I'd say try 4th gear and floor it

Cheers for the reply. It was flooring it through all gears. Was I supposed to just do 1 gear?

Generally on a dyno they will choose a gear for the power run starting at a low RPM then going until a max figure has shown then let off, I reckon if you had mapped it will output around 115hp unless it was a useless map of just a guy increasing boost pressures and not adjusting all the maps

Ah ok thanks. So i will try that tomorrow then and see what it gives. I said i got a Bluefin device and flashed it myself. I did message them and they said that is as much as they can push the map before the car starts throwing fault codes etc...
