Mk7.5 External courtesy lighting question

Featured Replies

Hi,

I own a 2013 Mk7.5 Fiesta EcoBoost. The earlier one with the non-LED daylight running lights (DRLs).

When I unlock the car using the remote, for courtesy lighting both rear lights and the driver’s side DRL come on, but not the passenger side DRL. Is this how it’s supposed to work? I’m sure both DRLs used to illuminate, but I couldn't swear to it. When I turn the ignition both DRLs come on, so I don’t think it’s the bulb.

It's your sidelights that come on when you unlock the car rather than the DRL's. You won't notice a sidelight bulb being blown as most people go from straight from DRL's to dipped beam. Turn your headlight switch to the sidelights and see if the bulb has blown.

Thanks Luke. You're right, it is the sidelight bulb that's blown.
