Do Fiesta flame (2004) 1.4 Duratec engine got a timing chain or belt?

Featured Replies

I would like it to be chain timing  belt as it lasts longer. Thanks.

Lol I'm not sure which one you want it to be, you've said both in your statement. From my knowledge your car is belt driven.

that's petrol engine isn't it. I reckon it's a belt and goes round two camshafts at the top (obviously down to crankshaft also). if I remember correctly these are difficult to do a home replacement job on as they need special alignments tools as sprockets are not keyed to the shafts. get it slightly wrong and engine ruined. I have done a lot of timing belt replacements on my own cars but I would feel nervous about one of these.

1.25/1.4/1.6 engines are all the same job so what you say is correct.
