SimonRich
Hi. Has anyone fitted a gas strut to support their bonnet yet, seen kit advertised and wondering on users experiences before I take the plunge https://nbstyling.co.uk/product/fiesta-mk8-bonnet-strut-kit/
Hair
Hi! I have fitted just those in my car. Delivery to Finland was fast, good product! Only drawback is that "pin" that usually keeps bonnet up won´t "fit" under bonnet anymore. Bonnet won´t rise just enough to fit that into it´s slot. But you don`t need that anyway, it holds up just fine with those gas stuts. Very easy to fit, took about 10mins. I installed other wrong way.... But fortunately it was easy fix! 😀
lst
I think it was the third thing I modded for my mk8 after mudguards & wind deflectors. Definitely worth it, and as above very easy/quick to fit. I put the installation photos from their website on my phone as it made it a lil bit easier 🙂

nashdm2
Are these a genuine replacement, or, just an aftermarket product?

An aftermarket product as fiestas don't have them in the first place. They are very useful imo 🙂
nashdm2
OK, thanks, the reason I asked is the one of the pictures in that link above looks like it is a bodge. Are the holes and slots etc there for them, or is there drilling involved ? EDIT - Just read the blurb on the site where is says no drilling required. But, the last picture on the fitting guide, the top stop looks like its fitted the wrong side of the bonnet metal work?
