Heated Front Windscreen Help

Hey guys, just registered so hi to all.

Ive just bought a fiesta 1.4 TDCi finesse from a dealer, 1 previous owner. This is my second car as im only 19 and thats also the reason why i dont know much about cars. My question is this, my fiesta has a windscreen with the lines through it as if it should be a heated front windscreen, but theres no seperate button on the dash for it, just for the rear windscreen. Does this button do both? why would ford spend the extra money fitting a heated front windscreen in a car and not add the facility to use it, surely it would be cheaper for them to install a standard windscreen?

Many Thanks for your advice.

Welcome.

What age is your car? You should have a separate button for both screens, on the MK6.5 I had, it was next to the button for the rear screen. If it's older, I'm not sure where it should be, maybe another member will help.

Its an "03" reg....

That makes it a MK6, I THINK the dash was the same as the 6.5 I had, so yeah if you don't have the button, maybe the screen was replaced at some point and all they had were the heated type.

If you're interested you may have a little project on your hands now, you could hook up your own power supply/switch to it B)
