Problems acquiring 6000 CD code

Good afternoon everyone

I purchased a 2013 Mondeo yesterday and the 6000 cd was asking for the code to be entered, the dealer said that it is the manual. On returning home I found the code but I have tried it twice and it won’t except it and I don’t want to lock it out.

So I though ok I will purchase an unlock code after obtaining the V or M serial number. Following the guide I held 1 and 6 but there is no V or M number. Is there something I am doing wrong or is it a faulty stereo?

i have recorded the service menu and Here is what I see. Please help I don’t know what I am doing wrong and I go back to garage to complain I want to say the correct thing.

    After you enter code you need to press the *or# key , can't remember which one. On your video it's hard to see what's showing with reflection on radio screen.

    Thank you for your reply Ian. Apologies for the bad picture quality. I have tried both the * and #, Unfortunately neither work. 

    I have seen on one of the sites where you can pay for codes that some of the cd 6000 head units will not display the serial number. I think I will speak to the dealer that I got this from as they should really be sorting this for me.

    the M or V serial numbers are on the side of the radio so they need to be pull out but dont ask me how as its a 2013 hope this helps

    Yeah, get the garage to sort it and give you the correct code for future reference.

    Looking at your video again it seems the radio display is delayed in showing the digits. I see the "sn" but what's after isn't displaying

    seems odd to me, if it was simple the dealer would have done it wouldn't he?  sounds more like he knew there was a problem.
