Mondeo 2L Ecoboost Oil Leak

Featured Replies

Good evening my fellow forumers.

I am in need of some assistance please, I have rebuilt my Mondeo after a blew a Head Gasket, the head has been skimmed, new Valve Stem Seals replaced, along with all the necessary gaskets and Oil Seals, and this is my problem.  I have fitted a new Crankshaft Oil seal but there still seems to be a small leak coming from the Seal, more so when the engine is running and under load, so my question(s) are:

  1. How far does that seal go in?
  2. There is a slight movement on the Crankshaft pulley, (between the outside ring and inside ring), you can see this on the rubber insert, I understand this to be a Harmonic Balancing Pulley, therefore, if there is this slight movement, would this make the pulley imbalance and cause the Oil Leak?
  3. If there is no Friction Washer at the end of the Timing Chain Cog, (floating on the crankshaft), would this cause the Oil Leak

If anyone out there can help me out or perhaps give me some suggestions I would really appreciate it
