2003 Focus 1.4

Featured Replies

Hello,

Apologies, only just found out about this owners club forum.

we've had our Focus for about just under 5 years now. It's a July 2003 1.4 cl light blue metallic, 16 years old last Friday.

It was my first Ford for many years, think my last one was my M reg 1974 Mk1 RS2000 (wish I still had that, remember struggling to get £1600.00 when I sold that one in the mid 80's after owning it for about 3 years). Got the Focus when my uncle who had owned the car for several years decided to stop driving and gave us first refusal on the car which only had just over 36k miles on it from new when it was 11 years old. Now it's still only got just over 59k miles on it and still drives really well. Haven't had many problems with it, usual electric window motor intermittent problem and sometimes the odd water leak into the spare wheel well.

Most week's it's just used for a 5 mile round trip commute a couple of days of the week and then for shopping trips and the odd trip to Bournemouth/Brighton type of distance to go to a gig.

My other vehicles are a Fiat Ducato van for work use, which I drive most of the time Had that 15 years since it was 3 months old and only done 132K miles in that, but that's getting a bit old and tired now so looking at getting a SWB Transit Custom in the near future.

I've been a member of the Hillman Imp club for many years, have hillclimbed and circuit raced Imps in the past and on the current "toys" side of things I have a 1972 lightweight mod-sport/hillclimb spec Clan Crusader, big arches, full race engine c/w close ratio box in the back of that https://www.clan-crusader.com/ and a 1972 Mk6  Davrian that needs a full re-build/re-paint when I get round to it. Mine's the 5th one in with hardly any paint on it.
