Overheat

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, my Mondeo has an issue, need some advise before I bring it to the garage.

My car is the 1.6 ecoboost, it started to behave unusually these two day.

1. the temperate gauge went up to max 120°c

2. it started to lose powder and slow down

3. no warning light on the dash at all

4. I stopped on the hard shoulder, switched off the engine entirely for about 3 mins. Then I restart the engine and it drove properly like nothing has been happened.

However, when I arrived my destination and switched off the engine, the fan was still running and I could smell the heat.

What happened to my car? It happened 4 times already from 2 return trips. I hope someone can help me out please.

sounds like some form of senor or thermastat is at fault

Just make sure the water and oil are not mixing
