Help ! i've got a 51 reg Ka with lots of play in the rack and hardly any money to fix it before the dreaded MoT is due next week, i've been told that:- a) you don't have to change the whole rack, you can just replace the arms, or:- B) fiesta's have the same racks??? Can I use the arms from a Fiesta steering rack? If so what year Fiesta should I be removing said parts from? HeLp!!!

the arms can be changed but it usually requires removing the rack to do it if there is that much play forget the mot youll just throw cash down the drain as it will fail better to get the arms off a scrap ka

Hi I have the same problem on my R reg KA3 this is power steering and it has play in the drivers side only, does the arms wear or is it the steering rack casing that wears? I do not want to buy and arm and strip down the rack if it does not cure the problem, what did you do?
