Mondeo Cooling Fan always running

Featured Replies

Hello, we have just purchased a 2018 Mondeo Vignale 2.0 Diesel, since we have had it the cooling fan is constantly on when the engine is running. The temp gauge is showing correct. Any  suggestions as what the problem is? Or is this the norn?

Thanks

This may be helpful, but I had this on a mk2 mondeo, some time back.

To cut a long story short, after changing a lot of things the last to change was the thermostat, believe it or not,

It was the thermostat !!.

The Vignale has climate control rather than basic "manual A/C" so it will use the AC to regulate the interior temperature AND humidity.  Off the top of my head I can't remember if you can turn the climate control "off" or just set a temperature.  If Sync 3 allows for an "Off" setting and the fan is still running all the time, then I'd say that doesn't sound right.

Could it be something to do with the coolant level? It is just under minimum?

Just found out that it’s got an outstanding recall for the  desulphurisation on the engine? Would this explain anything?
