sidelight/full beam dash warning lights

Featured Replies

Mondeo model:: 2.5 V6 zetec S

Hi all

I noticed a while ago that these two warning lights did not illuminate when sidelights or full beam were switched on.

So, eventually, I was able to remove the instruments cluster (with the help of a few youtube videos).

I stripped it down to major components, replaced one big background/illumination bulb (blown).

Found that most of the warning lights are clear 5mm LED's soldered to the PCB and those in question (sidelight and main beam) are the same.

I am retired and I was able to return to this job after hols and stuff. Reconnected the instrument cluster and both warning lights worked.

Yesterday the 2 led's were OK, today they did not work'

Plugged/unplugged, cleaned contacts, no go.

Can someone please help.

John
