Ford Escort Rear Panel

Featured Replies

My 21 year old son has went and bought a Ford Escort N reg (1996) hatchback.

He was parking it on our drive when his foot slipped and the car ended up hitting our house.

Good news for us is that the house is undamaged, bad news for him is that his car needs a new bumper, new tailgate and new spoiler.

On further inspection I find that the tailgate does not shut properly, when I'm in the boot I can see that the rear panel seems to have been pushed in some,

My questions are:

Can this rear panel be pushed back out, if so best way to do this?

If it needs a new rear panel how does it come out......is it welded? If so I know a welder but how to remove the old rear panel before he welds in a new one?

Any help greatly appreciated
