According to the talkford forum, your mk4 tdci has a timing belt.

Belt.

Yes it does have a belt as i have recently changed it on my 2.0 tdci 163. Upon inspection the belt was in very good condition when i changed it at 120,000miles and it had Peugeot writing on it  ,apparently its a peugeot engine ??.

Yep, Pug engine.

Is the 140 2.0 litre also a Peugeot engine?
