Featured Replies

Hi

My  MK4 2.0 tdci ghia Mondeo has issues with instruments dying?  they are OK most of the time but now and again  ,all instruments die , display , stereo, heater, everything still works( apart from indicators, i haven't tried wipers etc yet) gauge needles drop, all illumination from anything digital dies, then usually a second or two and its all back on. sometimes it can happen a couple of times on a journey , sometimes never, sometimes for a second , one time was about 10 seconds , i haven't noticed a pattern anywhere??

anybody have a clue where i can start please ?

thank you

Hi

anybody have seen this problem before ??

thank you

I've not seen it...might be worth a look on the Talkford forums as it's mainly Mondeo owners on there.

Not sure if you've sorted the issue now or not but sounds like power interrupted going to Body Control Module, (BCM). This is located in the passenger side footwell below glove box. Remove carpet covering, turn black retainer to drop down fuse unit and BCM. Check the plug at the front, yellow n red wires going into it. If they're tight then possible loss of power from main fuse unit in engine bay?

Hi

Many thanks , i haven't looked yet , but will as its getting worse. have you any pictures so i know what to look for ? first time playing with a Mondeo so a bit apprehensive. I have trawled through the internet but it doesn't look like a common issue ?

makes sense though , my father had a dash cam wired in and the company fitting it routed the wire down there and since then, the carpet keeps coming away, and i suppose if someone sitting there sticks their feet into that area,  something may be disturbed ?
