Ford Mondeo 1.8TDCI EGR Fault

Featured Replies

First post on this page. I've got a MK4 mondeo with an EGR fault P0490 - EGR Circuit High. I have removed the actuator and checked the mechanical valve in the inlet and that's nice and free. Do these suffer with actuator failures. It's hard to start some times has diesel knock on now revs and chugs slightly. Was considering blanking and replacing the actuator. Just hoping someone had this same issue and managed to rectify it. Thanks in advance.

Change the egr motor , they become faulty and cause the engine management light to come on , easy to change just 4 bolts , you can get oem ones on ebay for about £40 (be aware eurocarparts sell the same part for £180) when fitted you need to reset the light but also if you have forscan reset egr learned values
