It was from another online place. Paid £30 for it this is the second sd card they have sent. I have checked the data on the card against my working F4 card.it seems like the same file structure, there was talk of a usb stick required, have i missed part of the process somewhere was i supposed to get a usb to update the system software first ? All very confusing.

Sorry everyone my old account is locked so have created this one please use this to reply to post about F8 sync sd card issue thanks in advance

@Bannko might be able to advise?

Thanks TFG

As iantt mentioned above. The genuine Ford SD card is sealed in a big box and costs around 150+ Pounds...So definitely everything that is under 100 is a copy 🙂

Anyway there is nothing wrong with the copies just you don't know what quality SD cards are used for it. So sometimes they could be damaged easily during transportation and extreme conditions and sometimes whoever is doing the copy can do a simple mistake in the process and then the card is not recognized.

I would recommend you just simply write to the seller and ask for a replacement. But just a qucik diagnosis tips:

1. if you plug in the SD card and nothing happens and you still have the info to insert nav SD card, then most likely it is bad copy.

2. If you plug in the SD card and you get some kind of faulty nav card Error then the SD card is most likely damaged.

It’s certainly not the £160 ford version it was on the net for £30 it shows insert SD card so likely that it’s a dodgy card or bad copy thanks  so do I need to update the system software to from F4 before it will accept the F8 SD Card.
