First Edge purchase

Featured Replies

Hi All

Still got my Edge, purchased from new back in 2016

Coming up for 71K miles, and still running like a dream

Apart from initial problems that I had when first purchased (noted elsewhere on forum) it is still behaving itself

As I found out recently that not many apps available for Sync II, I have gone for Android Auto which involved the fitting of a "Car Play" unit into my Edge, which was fairly simple to do

I looked into this after my son introduced me to Waze as he uses this app when driving, which will not work with my Sync II, hence my upgrade

And is switchable between Sync II and Car Play. The unit only cost me around £85 and about three hours work to install from start to finish, mainly wiring as in where best to route wires

But compared to the estimates of anything up to about £2K to convert to Sync III, I think is a decent alternative

Happy Motoring

Dave
