mikew22
My Mondeo Mk 4 has been off the road for some time and now the battery is dead. As it is a pain to remove the battery and the -ve terminal is not accessible, is it OK to re-charge it in situ by just disconnecting the lead to the +ve terminal and then connecting the charger to the +ve terminal and the earth post where the -ve lead is connected? erictcleric
If you have a modern smart charger you can connect it to the +ve terminal and the chassis ground near the barrery. Depending on the charger, you may not even need to remove the connections to the +ve terminal. My Noco charger has a fly lead permanently connected to the +ve terminal and the chassis ground near the battery. When it needs a charge I just plug the charger into the lead.
