Mk3 rear hub removal

Featured Replies

DO I need to remove all the rear drum brake components to get the rear hub off? Or can I get away with just the drum.  Ive replaced hubs before, but never with rear drums brakes.

Removal of the wheelhub is actually quite easy.

1. Remove the wheel
2. Remove the brake drum (the brake drum is clamped between the wheel and the wheel hub).
3. remove the E-Torx bolts (4x) that secure the wheel hub from the back (remove the lower shock absorber bolt for better access).

Now the wheel hub can be removed.

Thanks!

Replaced the hub, still same old ABS fault... but narrowing it down...
