Steering wheel judder when steering (sharp turning/parking)

Before I book my car in for someone to take a look, I was wondering if anyone knows what this issue is likely to be on my 68 plate Focus.

I've noticed a couple of times since I had the car that occasionally when parking there is a strange noise and juddering felt through the steering wheel when steering hard. It's happening more frequently and doesn't feel right. It's not something I've experienced on any other car. It's like something is getting stuck.

Possibly related is that I've noticed when hard steering when stationary, or almost stationary, what sounds like a clonking noise from the front near side.

It's only recently had its first service and nothing was picked up.

Just curious if this is a well known thing or what it's likely to be really.
