Ford mondeo 2015 or Ford kuga for family of 5?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm struggling to make a choice. Family of 5, son is 6 foot tall, so need something with a bit more space at the back. I'm looking at the Ford mondeo and it appears to have more space than the kuga, is this the reality?. What's your opinion regarding Ford mondeo as a family car, as opposed to the kuga please?

If there's going to be 5 of you regular in the car then the Mondeo is  more comfy /spacious in the rear. My son is 6ft 3 and is ok headroom but like all cars the legroom is a bit tight when he sat behind me and I got my seat back. I'm 6 ft 3 also. We both have to compromise a bit and then we fine for a long journey.

Mondeo has alot more boot space too.

We got 4 adults , a 17yr old in with 5 suitcases and 5 hand luggage for our trips to airport. Wouldn't do half that in a Kuga

Kuga is a smaller car .

I would say Mondeo too. I have an older MK4.5 and my friend has an older Kuga and there is way more space in my car; more in the boot and rear seats (inc width).

The Kuga is not a large car in terms of space inside, it's like comparing a Mondeo to a Focus. I also compared the my Mondeo with my friends other car, 2014 BMW 5 series, and the Mondeo is roomier than that too.

Mondeo every time over a Kuga, it may be worth looking at a Grand CMax again a lot more room than a Kuga. Before my Grand Cmax I always had Mondeo estates only changed due to the Mondeo been to low for me to get in and out off, I can get everything in the Cmax that I could in the Mondeo. I had a Kuga on extended test drive and couldn't get all my stuff in it, interesting fact I can get more in my Cmax than my friend can get in her XC90 that's why we go to dog shows in the Cmax.
