Focus MK4 loss of power

Hi, hope everyone is well, 

I have a mk4 Focus ST-line 1.0 ecoboost and experienced a strange loss of power today. Essentially, I was pulling onto a slip road in second gear and when the revs got towards the red, the car just suddenly lost power. I was initially thinking it may have been a safety feature to prevent the engine over reviving. However, when I pulled off the road and stopped at some red lights, the car cut out and took a bit to start up again. I experience no warning lights however. 
 

I actually put a post on here when I first picked up the car brand new from the garage in September. I had literally driven a few miles before I put my foot down and the car lost power and went into safe mode. On that occasion I got an oil pressure warning light but when I took it in to the garage they couldn’t detect any issues. 
 

This is the second time my car has lost power now so I am wondering if there is some sort of underlying issues? It is entirely possible however that these two issues are unrelated though.
