Back seat floor on driver side

Featured Replies

focus model 2008-2011, after few rainy days, the car floor in the back seat area on driver side was soaked with water and had a musty smell, does it possible that water went though tail lights gap? what would be the first place you'll look for?

Hi,

It's a common problem for the boot spoiler seals to leak,

I recommend removing the rear spoiler and apply silicone around the bolt holes between the spoiler and the boot then refit the spoiler,

Guide to removal and fit here:

There is no spoiler in my car,514695325_focusrear.thumb.jpg.0a501e102cc547cfd9fb38d93696227e.jpg

There is a plastic strip/line with plastic screw in the rear area on the roof in each side of the car, I opened the screw on left side and there was full of dirt, I have no idea what it used for but I cleaned it.

I think it might be good idea to apply silicon to seal the rear lights grommets, Hopefully it will work.

I've had previous experience of a leak at the rear having had a 4dr Focus , you might find your solution at the link .
