2.0 TDCI Flashing Coil Light and P1000

Featured Replies

Hello All, Small issue with my mk3 mondeo yesterday used it all day for work racking about 100 miles with no problems but on my way home giving it some beans the car stuttered and starting flashing the coil light code read it and got a p1000 code feels like theres no turbo. When you turn it off and on again theres about a mintue of boost and then its gone.

Any Ideas what this could be? Im thinking either EGR or Blocked CAT as ive been doing a lot of stop start work.

Been out today to have a look in daylight, thought i would remove the boost pipe to try and single out the egr. When the pipes removed it works fine no issues i didnt want to drive it as im a little concered it might over boost (this is my first diesel and ive never worked on a turbo car before) aftet about a mintue with the pipe reattached the light came back. Does this confirm its the EGR?

Hi, there's no cat on these,, not like a real cat anyway unless you're not talking about a GB spec. P1000 isn't a fault as such, but not all code readers will read Mondeo codes anyway.
