Noisy Mondeo

Featured Replies

Please excuse me if this seems a dumb question.

My Mondeo mk3 2.0L deisel sounds like an old tank, it's noisy as hell. I have been getting it serviced every 6 months since I purchased it 18 months back, so regular oil and filter changes. The mechanic just says 'it's a Ford' which doesn't help. Is this just a noisy old beast or should I be looking for a problem?

Tony

I've had several mondeos and they are not noisy, it might help if you describe the noise. Has it just started or been there all the time it may be the reason the previous owner sold it. How many miles had it done, all my mondeos did over 135k one even went to 185k

They've got a unique sound. Could be the serpentine belt idlers and tensioner are noisy, but you'd need to take the belt off to check.... are you that bothered?
