Loud rattle/vibration coming from Gearbox, mk5 1.5econetic D

Featured Replies

Hey there, I have a 2017 MK5 Diesel 1.5 120hp, upon a cold start, the gearbox has a very noticeable vibration/rattle coming from it, It happens if the clutch is up or down so I've ruled out the flywheel for now, the car is on 64k miles. The noise also seems to get louder when I pull the gearstick towards 4th, but not IN forth, any help would be appreciated.

I have linked to a video of this problem and hope anyone on here may know the cause of it, thank you.

also just to clarify the clunking sound heard is my window wipers, not the gearbox 🙂
