hi i have a 2016 focus 1.0 ecoboost with a damaged engine bought a replacement from a ford breaker which is slightly different the breaker told me they are compatible with manual and automatic 

some have a flywheel others dont can anybody advise please

    You should look for the correct engine code.

    A Euro 6 Emission 1.0 ECOboost for a 2016 Focus MK3.5 can have the following engine code:

    SFDB (100 HP).
    M2DB (100 HP).
    M2DC (100 HP).
    M1DC (125 HP).
    M1DD (125 HP).
    M1DH (140 HP).

    These are Focus MK3.5 / C-Max MK2.5 engine codes. Other Ford models do have different engine codes.

    100 HP versions are different from the 125/140 HP versions. The cilinder head for example is different. The only difference between a 125 HP version and a 140 HP version is the head gasket. A 140 HP engine can safely be used as a replacement for a 125 HP engine. There are also differences between Focus/C-max engines and for example Fiesta/B-max engines. 

    Ford does not mention any differences between manual or automatic transmission 1.0 ECOboost engine versions for the Focus MK3.5 / C-max MK2.5.
