1.8 tdci wont start

Featured Replies

Hi all, car is a 2009 mondeo 1.8tdci, I have been having an issue with the car, sometimes its difficult to start, won't start straight away, but starts eventually after cranking, so had the issue again today, car started fine, then cutout, like it had run out of fuel for example, now it won't start at all, tried cranking it and it was trying to start, but then just wouldn't start, tried towing it and still wouldn't start, i do have a broken clip on one of my fuel pipes, its the fuel out pipe on the filter housing, also, when engine is not running I can hear what sounds like a fizzing sound inside the fuel pipe that runs in front of the top of the engine to the filter housing, any help would be appreciated, thanks, I have included the picture of the broken clip.

Any ideas, the car was running, this fuel line has been like this for a while

Most likely air getting into the fuel line thro' that broken clip not providing a sufficiently airtight seal.
