Clutch's and Gear Oil Seal

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Mondeo 2013 Trend (Gear 6dct450)
It has a small leak in the oil seal
And the clutch only slips on a morning ride. after a minute or so of shifting gears
It moves smoothly without any problems

I heared that if you repair the oil seal the problem can return and it is recommended to rebuild the gear???

Which oil seal are you talking about.

What is the veh mileage - Trans oil and filter MUST be replaced every 37,500 miles or 3 years, whichever soonest.

IF/when the trans oil level is correct does the trans still slip - if so, you have a problem

A specialist (if you can find one that's any good!) will probably charge around £2,000 upwards to do a rebuild. An exchange Ford trans is around £4,500 fitted

Is this any easier to identify which seal you mean
