Hi, just bought a 2018 Mondeo Hatchback, and I am looking to install the rear power point in the boot. Is it a case of cutting the trim and hey presto the plug for the socket is there and fit? Would someone be able to take a photo of their boot that has the socket and upload it here, as there is no pictures online of it - I have worn google out looking for it!!!!!

    If the MK5 is like the MK4/4.5 then only the estates had the 12V socket in the boot as standard and the wiring is probably not there.

    In my MK4.5 Titanium X Sport (hatch), there was no wiring for one in the boot, the rear fuse box didn't even have the wiring coming out from it, but it did have the live feed going in. I just connected to that with an in-line fuse and ran a cable to where I wanted to mount a double socket under the parcel self support.

    Hi David, yes I did the same as you in my MK4, that rear fuse box was a godsend, and to which I cannot believe the MK5 doesn't have a rear fuse box. I may well just leave it, just make up an extension to plug into the rear of the centre console when I need it.
