Apple Carplay on Sync 3

Hi, 

i recently switched my android to ios and now im usin Apple Carplay. Since then im having a problems with waze. App is opening but i can not set any destinations or whatsover. There are mostly white screen with some waze interface buttons. Every time i switch an app on phone, the car screen waze app closes and says:" when it is safe to do so, open Waze on youre phone. " 

So , basically i have to open the app ( SDL ) all the time on Iphones screen. I can not even turn the screen off , otherwise that "error" pops up again. 

Do you guyes have any ideas what should i try or do to fix a waze app on Sync 3

I do own Ford Mondeo Vignale 2017.

When i close my phone screens off or tryng to switch any apps on phone.

    That’s not CarPlay. That’s applink or some such. CarPlay takes over the whole display with the Apple UI and you don’t need to touch your phone.

    In setting on sync make sure CarPlay is enabled.

    phone glitched it. I restarted phone several times and suddenly i got it working. I also reignited car.
