New owner of old Mondeo

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently got hold of a 2006 Mondeo.  Everything's great - love it.  Always loved Fords.

I have a problem finding the code for the radio though.  Everything I've read says "press buttons 1 & 6 together and the radio serial number will come up" (amongst other things).  Nothing I see there looks like the radio serial number which is apparently supposed to start with an M or a V.

I've tried other button combinations to no avail.

Any clues would be very welcome - thanks.

Hi welcome 🙂

find radio seriel number 2006 ford mondeo

this is the search I just put into youtube. it seems there are a few radios in this car but the video finding seriel number (without special tools) by "ford radio codes" seems to describe yours with the 1 & 6 buttons looks good . check it out

If you have no joy pressing 1 & 6  or 2 & 6 on your CD player . You will have to remove it to find the code then ring

Thanks for your responses.  I have also tried to remove the radio to get serial number - bought 4 "keys" for radio removal, but no success with that either.

Have added a pic of radio in case that rings bells for anyone

Can’t say I have removed that type of radio , but looking at the picture it looks like there is 4 slotted openings at each corner. If they are like the round pins type they can be a tease to get the lugs to release. I found I had to wriggle the pins to get to release on one end then the other. Have you looked on youtube there’s sometimes something on there to show how to get it to release

I have just done a search on you tube  putting in ( how to remove Sony radio from 2006 Ford Mondeo ) and it came up top of the list with how to remove that type from your car

I'll obviously have to try again with the key things - got 1 in!  I checked out all the YouTube vids as well.
