Mk4.5 cutting out when cold

Featured Replies

Hi, just thought to post about an issue I had with my 2011 2.0tdci powershift mondeo. When I started it from cold outside air temperature below 2c it will start fine but idle a bit lumpy then as soon as I selected drive it would splutter and stall. This would happen about twice. Once slightly warm it would drive perfect with no issues, although with a slight loss in power. Anyway i decided to change all the filters including the diesel filter which was black! After a test the following morning at a temp of -2c it started fine and didn’t stall. Hopefully this is the issue sorted. I hope this thread can shed light on anyone with a similar issue. The diesel filter is located by the fuel tank and I used a hand pump to prime it after the filter change.

Hello mate,

Mine is doing exactly that.

Did you ever find out the cause?

Thanks

Malc
